These banana cupcakes are one of my favorite ways to eat a banana. They are soft and moist, and full of banana flavor.

To be honest, I really eat them for the cinnamon cream cheese frosting, it’s amazing!!

How to Make Banana Cupcakes

  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  • Make a well in center of flour mixture
  • Mix together the butter, mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla and pour it into the dry ingredients.
  • Stir to incorporate flour mixture, do not over mix.
  • Spoon batter into muffin cups lined with paper liners.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  • Remove cupcakes from pan and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Beat butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
  • Slowly add the powdered sugar and mix until everything is combined
  • Add the vanilla and the cinnamon
  • Frost the cooled cupcakes.

Tips

  • Pulse the bananas in a food processor to create a banana puree. This prevents any chunks of banana in your cupcakes.
  • Pecans and walnuts would go great with these cupcakes. You can add them to the batter or sprinkle them on top of the frosting.
  • Use room temperature softened butter and cream cheese for the frosting to make sure you get a nice smooth consistency.

Just made it few day ago … Fantastic cupcake !!
I was looking for a banana-nut cupcake … I made some few addition to the cupcake : put a little bit of dark chocolate in the cupcake (reduce the sugar in the receip) and over the frosting… I put some nut mix inside (almond, cashew, filbert.brasil nut, pecan)
    So moist and yummy 🙂
