An unusual combination that works!  White Chocolate Frito Popcorn may sound strange but you won’t be able to stop eating it.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

This is a fun treat that you will love. Popcorn and Fritos are covered in white chocolate and tossed with M&Ms. The perfect mix of salty and sweet. Change up the color of the M&Ms for a fun holiday treat.

It is easy to put together and guaranteed to become one of your favorite snacks!

Ingredients Needed

  • Popped popcorn, make sure to remove any unpopped kernels. I use my airpopper to make the popcorn.
  • White chocolate, almond bark, melts or use white chocolate chips
  • Frito Corn Chips
  • M&Ms

How to Make White Chocolate Frito Popcorn

  • Using an air popper or a pan on the stove top, pop 8 cups of popped popcorn.  Remove any unpopped popcorn kernels.
  • Place popped corn into a large bowl and add in Fritos.

  • Melt a pound of white chocolate melts or almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave or use a double boiler on the stove top.

  • Pour melted white chocolate over the popcorn and Fritos and stir to coat.

  • Spread it in a single layer on a cookie sheet  or a piece of wax paper or parchment paper on the table and then sprinkle the top with the M&M’s while the chocolate is still wet and warm.
  • Allow to cool.  To quicken the cooling process you can put it into the refrigerator.  Let cool.

This may seem like a strange combination but trust me on this one!  It’s addictive.

Tips

  • Make sure to remove any unpopped kernals from the popcorn before coating in white chocolate.
  • You can easily change up the mix by adding peanuts, pretzels, or your favorite candy.

I love cashews in it. Leave out the m&ms and sprinkles for a more adult snack

Can I use microwave popcorn or does it need to be made the old-fashioned way with oil and popcorn in a covered pot on the stove?

You can use microwave popcorn, just not one that is really buttery. Your popcorn may be a little salter if the popcorn is salted.

I guess I could just ask you this question next Thursday when I see you at Women’s Conference, but I’m too impatient. Another blog had a similar recipe to yours here, but without the Fritos, which got me thinking…how much unpopped popcorn does it take to pop 8 cups of popped popcorn? Thanks- Patti

Patti . I usually pop it in an air popper and use 1/3 c of popcorn kernals – makes about 6-8 cups depending on well they pop.
